I believe the general rule-of-thumb is:
If errors are rare, catch them.
If errors are common, check in advance.

I would never program with errors as the expected outcome.

Would like to check with you guys if monitor block handling significant
higher errors ( > 400K and may be more do not have exact stat but
significantly higher) would impact performance the program or is it
insignificant and will not have any impact at all.
