May I offer the use of "WHERE CURRENT OF cursor-name"? This is great
when using a cursor with the DELETE - then your statement becomes this -
Delete from fromfile Df where current of yourcursor
I think I have to admit, I learned about this in certainly no more than
the last 5 years.
Not that there is a lot of overhead with retrieving the RRN - it just
isn't standard SQL, it's an IBM i-specific extension.
