I think I have it:

select date(timestamp_format('1/3/2020 12:00:00 PM', 'MM/DD/YYYY HH:MI:SS AM')) from sysibm.sysdummy1;

I'm consuming a web service that returns an "odd" timestamp string (JSON). It doesn't use any preceding zeros in the date portion. All I really need is the date.
I was trying to use the SQL function TIMESTAMP_FORMAT to do the conversion, but I'm not having much luck.
The string looks like this:

'12/3/2020 12:00:00 AM' or
'12/3/2020 6:57:11 PM'

They will also send
'1/1/0001 0:00:01 AM'
(or something similar)

All I really need is the date portion. Any suggestions?
