I agree with Brian as I also use ACTGRP(*NEW) for all my test and demo programs, because it is the easiest way to cleanup everything when the program ends.

Indeed it would be, Alan. But as Scott has suggested, this is only a test case to try and demonstrate, (and get an understanding of) some inconsistencies. (Well, inconsistent in my mind.)

Thx for the suggestions - I have posted a follow up example with the PI coded (or not) which adds to the confusion! I'll look in to PTF possible issues as well.
