Hi Jerry,

Are you certain that 'Authorization: Basic' is correct, here? Normally, people do not code Authorization: Basic themselves, but instead use the http_setAuth() procedure with HTTP_AUTH_BASIC. This will automatically do basic authentication.  If you are trying to do something like a bearer token, then the type of authorization isn't normally basic.

With regards to the media type, you shouldn't manually set the content-type as you are doing.  Instead, pass it in the appropriate parameter to http_req().

rc = http_req('POST'
: TokenURL
: ResponseFile
: *omit
: *omit
: FormData
: 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded');

-SK

I'm not sure where json comes into this? That curl request doesn't
appear to use any json. I think what you want is something like example 4.

// set headers and auth like you already did. ( I don't see where you
set the auth however )

formdata = 'grant_type=password'
+ '&username=' + http_urlEncode(%Trim(XPOUserName))
+ '&password=' + http_urlEncode(%Trim(XPOPassword));

rc = http_req('POST'
: TokenURL
: ResponseFile
: *omit
: *omit
: formdata);

I am wondering if it is because the postman has =.

I changed it to:

yajl_genOpen(*On);

yajl_beginObj();

yajl_addChar('grant_type=password');

yajl_addChar('username=' + %Trim(XPOUserName));

yajl_addChar('password=' + %Trim(XPOPassword));

yajl_endObj();

The resulting json looks like

{

"grant_type=password": "username=ourUser",

"password=Ourpassword"

}

Why the :?

Subject: Postman to HTTPAPI

Hi All,

I am trying to figure out how to map what postman is doing to httpapi.

Postman code

curl --location --request POST '

<https://api.ltl.xpo.com/token'>

https://api.ltl.xpo.com/token'

\ --header 'Authorization: Basic &ourapikey&' \ --header 'Content-Type:
application/x-www-form-urlencoded' \ --data-urlencode 'grant_type=password'
\ --data-urlencode 'username=&ourusername&' \ --data-urlencode
'password=&outpassword&'

Rpg code

RequestFile = %Trim(Path) + 'TokenRequest.json';

ResponseFile = %Trim(Path) + 'TokenResponse.json';

Rc = http_xproc(HTTP_POINT_ADDL_HEADER : %paddr(SetHTTPHeader));

// Build json Request

yajl_genOpen(*On);

yajl_beginObj();

yajl_addChar('grant_type' : 'password');

yajl_addChar('username' : %Trim(UserName));

yajl_addChar('password' : %Trim(Password));

yajl_endObj();

yajl_saveBuf(RequestFile : EMsg);

yajl_genClose();

http_setCCSIDs( 1208: 0 );

rc = http_post_stmf( TokenURL

: RequestFile

: ResponseFile

: HTTP_TIMEOUT

: HTTP_USERAGENT

: 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded');

From SetHTTPHeader

Headers = 'Authorization: Basic ' + %Trim(APIKey) + CRLF +

'Content-Type: ' + 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded' +
CRLF;

This gives error 400 Bad Request

Changing 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded'); to 'application/json');
or commenting out that line

This gives error 415 Unsupported Media Type What am I doing wrong?
