Thank you for the link to the stack traceback option. I am not sure if it might help, because the errors happen in various procedures. But at least the stack traceback option is another utility in our tool box.

It is very unlikely that the problem is related to PTFs, because it appeared after an update of our application. So far my best guess is that somebody messed something up with optional parameters. I already found such a program (old one with *ENTRY) but sadly it was not resposnible for the problems, because it is called with all parameters. So actually testing the number of parameters is not (or no longer) required.

Did you make any IBM changes? (PTFs, whatever.) If so, could they be part of the problem.

I found something called Stack Tracebacks. Might that help?
