I've written pieces on YAJL and DATA-INTO Nathan - plus the XML tooling from Henrik. No reason that I wouldn't do the same thing with anything you offer.

In fact a comparison of several of the options including Niels' NoXDb would be interesting.

Heck you could even write a parser to link your stuff to DATA-INTO - 'cos in cases where performance is nice but not critical. DATA-INTO is just too concise compared with the alternatives to ignore.

Jon,

Thanks for the point. I'd like to make a library available, hopefully
before too long. How about you writing an article about it? I'd first like
to create a CL command that generates RPG programs from JSON documents.
Then generate a set of samples that shops could derive code from. While
working on that, I've had to make tweaks to the parser to accommodate. So I
need a little more time.

Honestly, I've had mixed feelings about offering "tools" to developers. It
often means competing against IBM and other large entities, FOSS
developers, and pundits who jump on the bandwagon. But it appears that in
some cases a performance advantage may be of value.

Nathan.

It is interesting Nathan that your code is faster - but unless you will be
making it available to the rest of us it is moot. I can't benefit from
what I can't get.
