It works because the second = is an equality test and not an assignment. If you had tried *IN50 = (myValue += 5); it would have failed to compile. On the other hand *IN50 = (myValue =+ 5); would be just fine <grin>

bringing the subject to illustrate that the logical example I gave before
does work, put more clearly, like:

*IN50 = (myValue = 5);

does compile perfectly well, and indicator 50 will be *ON if myValue is 5.
