Great to hear! Sometimes old school is still needed. :)

Thanks Brad, that's exactly what I finally did, look at the spool file, and
found the problem in about 60 seconds.

Geesh....

Subject: Re: Error messages on Compile

I have found the original ILE Editor and SQL errors don't seem to jive
well.
I always have to go to the spooled file itself and look for the SQL errors
and solve those.

But as for other compile time errors, ILE Editor does pretty well.

Try using a decent editor like RDi or ILEditor2.

Both of those will show the errors in the source. If you use Windows
you could use the original free ILEditor which I think does the same
thing.

There are ways on the green screen - but why make life harder than it
need be!

Give me an idea where to look. The IBM manuals are completely
circular, they reference one thing, then another, yet another, then
back to the
first
without an answer (that I could find anyway) Dr. Google provided only
limited assistance. I'll solve the compile problem, but I need some
idea what to look at. Simple, most likely but I don't see it.
