Why not just take the listing and copy/paste the relevant portion of the PCML into a separate file? There is no rule that says the PCML has to be the file generated by the compiler.

You may of course still have a run time problem with the execution of the Java.

Since you really should check the impact of the Java - I suggest you write a tiny program with the parms you are currently using and just have it return some fake data. That will generate usable PCML. Test that program with IWS.

Next add a simple Java call e.g convert to and from a Java string object. _Don't_ generate the PCML - just recompile the program and see if it still works with the java calls in place.

If all that works you have the PCML you need and can let IBM worry about why the compile fails.

Brain,

Great idea. I did that and sure enough the results file shows the error.
It's confusing since the program will compile, as-is, and works successfully
not being created with the *PCML option. But, nonetheless, it does contain
the specific error; of course on one of the procedures that does Java work
(taking an RPG string and converting it to a class Java string. I'll start
digging through documentation on this one now; but I have a starting point.

Thanks again,

Steve

Try sending the generated PCML to a stream file. I recall the resulting
output will contain the errors behind the RVF0302 message.

However, I now have a need for the web service program to call a Java
process. When I compile the program as a "regular" program I receive no
errors. However, when I change the Ctl-Opt to read PgmInfo(*PCML:*Module),
as I do for all of my other web service's programs, I receive a RNF0302,
Errors were found while generating the program information to be placed in
the module.
