Output string too short?

No, the output is a 256-character variable length string. The
value was -1234567.89. The following was producing -123456789 with
d_shift having a value of 100.


return %char(packed_data / d_shift);

Let me be more clear... "packed_data" had no decimal places. The
purpose of d_shift was to put 2 decimal places into the number and then
return it as a character string. I decided that %CHAR took no account of
the division operation and simply produced output with no decimal place
because neither of the variables in the expression had decimal places.
