If this comes down to changing the metadata as well as the contents of
a source physical file from one CCSID to another, I am guessing it is
not a trivial task.
I am very interested in this myself, as we have a few source PFs that
were defined as CCSID 65535 while most of them are CCSID 37.
I suspect (but hope that I am wrong) that the only way to do it is to
create a brand new source PF with the proper CCSID, then copy over all
the members to this new file. Which I guess doesn't sound *too* bad,
but it sure would be nice if there were an in-place,
metadata-preserving way.
