You can create a Data Structure as follows:
DCL-DS YourDS Qualified;
ArrFirstLast Dim(100)
ArrFirstName VarChar(25)
ArrLastName VarChar(25)
Now you can use %SubArr and Sort ArrFirstName or ArrLastName in Ascending or
Descending sequence

Subject: Re: sort array with two columns
SortA can't do it unless the two fields are a) contiguous in the DS and B)
In the "right" order which would normally in this case be Last name followed
by first name.
The real answer is to use qsort() - there are several examples one the web
including in the original RPG "Sorcerers" redbook if you can find a copy.
If not just holler and I'll post one.

This has to be easier than I am making it.
Lets say I have field FirstName and field LastName with, say, 15 rows out
I want users to be able to sort by:1: 15).
* FirstName (A)
* FirstName (D)
* LastName (A)
* LastName (D)
I can do that with sorta %subArr(field: 1: 15) and sorta(d) %subArr(field:
However getting the complete first & last name to sort together isconvoluted, so my guess is I am missing something simple.
