Please don't you start Booth - SQL is NOT the answer to every blasted problem!

In this case about the only thing that needs to change is the Proc/PI definitions and that is trivial. Why change working code more than needed? Besides the date is in memory or qsort couldn't be used in the first place. So using SQL would require creating a table, etc. etc.

Sometimes a rewrtre to newer solutions is the right answer? Replace qsort with sql's order by. That looks like they are sorting OrderItm by due date. Order by due date is a pretty well understood SQL activity.
