BLOB data from QSYS2.Display_Journal -- RPG400-L

I'm using QSYS2.Display_Journal() with embedded SQL to read a DB journal. It returns the ENTRY_DATA as a BLOB data type. The BLOB is a 4 byte integer with a length, followed by the journal data. It looks like a can just use a simple %SUBST(), but is there a built-in way to get the data from the BLOB?
