Thanks for your response Dave
From all the responses I have received - it looks like I need to create an external file

The report is not that involved, so I was thinking that all I need was
o specs, when it occurred to me that I was creating the program
totally in free form - but I could NOT remember reading about any
changes to o specs with free form Hence my question
The change was that O-specs were eliminated in fully free-form RPG (**free). Thus, you only have two choices in fully free-form RPG... An externally defined print file, or put the fixed-form O-specs in a copybook and /INCLUDE them. The compiler switches to **no-free during copybook inclusion.
Sincerely,
Dave Clark
