Dieter, that's close to what I'm doing.  In my process I have already
extracted the journal data into an extraction file with a structure
containing the journal fields + the file fields.  What I'm trying to do now
is display/extract those data records and return them as a JSON string.
Birgitta had a wonderful sp which did this but unfortunately I'm restricted
to V7R1.
So I'm trying to get this to work using Dave and Jon's advise.
