Secure existing PDF with a password

Some time ago i have the same issue.
I decided install ibm i python. And now this is my run sequence:
1º RPGLE program generate a pfd file in a ifs folder,
2º The same RPGLE program execute a python script witch generate a copy of
pdf file (because i need so) protected with one password received by
parameter in the script.

First of all you need install python, and after build a script that work
for you.

it isn't complicated.

Before I try to re-invent the wheel here, I figured I'd ask the group if
anyone has done this before.

I have a few existing PDF files that are emailed out on a regular basis. I
would like to be able to password protect those files before they go out,
but as far as I can tell the CPYSPLF and OVRPRTF commands don't have an
option for a password. So has anyone here used something like iText to
secure an already existing PDF?

Now one option I do have is to zip the PDF into a zip file as our zip
command does have a password. But, I figured I'd see if I could password
protect the PDF itself.
