Use a dimmed DS with at least one element ( DIM(1) ) and "FETCH ..... for 1 rows into :DSARRAY". SQL code in RPG then does DS moves and reduces the amount of debug steps you have to take.

Subject: Debugging embedded SQL statements.

So one thing that has been bugging me for a while now is debugging certain SQL statements in RPGLE. The ones specifically I"m talking about are the ones that move data into data structures. For each field you have to keep hitting step into or step over until all the data has been moved into the DS. Is there a way like no debug IO where I can just step over that statement and it's complete? For now I have been using breakpoints, but that gets annoying too.

Thanks,
