John, Jon & Barbara Thanks yet once again,

Jon is correct, the desired result for the non-print characters be removed from the string.

Barbara basically said what Jon said but explained. That would work fine, my current issue is I am not sure how to create a 360 character constant for every possible non-print character, or I should correctly say I do not know how to accomplish that in Free**. I haven't been able to find the proper method for line continuation for constants that extend over multiple lines.
I probably skipped class that day to go to the beach.

Thanks & Regards,

%XLate cannot replace with null John - and this was potentially what the OP might have wanted.

However, I have no idea what you mean by a single code point, and therefore how I would accomplish what-you-said. I would only be working on a single field at a time.

"Code point" roughly means the same thing as "character". Jon is
saying you can convert all the unprintables to the *same* character
using using %XLATE. I'm not sure why he suggested feeding that to
%SCANRPL. It seems to me that after %XLATE does its thing, you're
done.

In short, I believe %XLATE is the tool you are looking for, not %SCANRPL.
