There is no requirement for flexibility of data, all columns, are present in
all records. This could easily be a .csv.

I completely agree that CSV would be better, given the nature of the data.

What's kind of sad and disappointing is that CSV should be easier and
faster to *generate*, not just consume, meaning CSV would be better
FOR THEM as well as for you.
