that gets daunting.

user changes - user scratches head - user sees a squirrel and goes to stare
out window at it - user returns and decides to press f4 and update it the
correct way...

i don't what to guess best trigger spots to "restore" it back to what it
was.

Or make it a both and create a hidden field. If they change it, just
restore it back.

currently i have a field that is output only in the dspf so that the user
can SEE the value in it but if they want to change it they have to f4 to
pull up another maintenance window for that field.
PO growling because the user cannot tab into the field then press f4 to
update it.

sooo, is there a way to keep the field from being edited but allow it to
be
tabbed into.

case of want my cake and eat it too i realize... and probably not
practical.

only other thought was to put a 1char input field just before it to allow
them to tab into and press f4 giving the appearance they are on the
field.
