We’re using POI3.6 on V7R2 using JDK 7.1 with zero issues.

We’re also running POI 4.0.0 and Java 8 with zero problems. Due to the java compatibility concerns, I decided to migrate to the most current release of Apache’s POI which requires Java 8 - much more current - and experienced almost zero issues.

POI 3.6 works fine on our system, but it’s nice to know that we have the most recent version that will eventually replace all this old code.

Subject: V7R3 - HSSFR4 Open-source POI software from Apache

Hi,

We are in the process of planning an upgrade from V7r1 (I know!) to V7r3. A few years back we started using Scott Klement's open-source process to write to Excel files from RPG. Is anybody using the process in V7r3?
... trying to eliminate any surprises.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Mitchell
