The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.

Being that we
have SQL procedures, functions and table functions, there is not much use
for ILE procedures and service programs.
One drawback to SQL stored procedures, etc. is that the overall
architecture is something of a fallback to the original program model. I'm
not sure if this is a disadvantage in the context of IWS-based web
services, or other interfaces that enable calls to native IBM i programs
from non-native clients. One can assert that the original program model is
adequate for what you're trying to do. On the other hand, for developers
who are well-versed in object oriented design, and understand the
advantages of encapsulation - I don't think they would be happy with an
architecture that forced them back into the original program model.
