A service program is RPG friendly enough for me =)
You misunderstand me. I am saying that any service program (which, by
definition, must live in QSYS.LIB and be compiled with an ILE
compiler) is going to be the most RPG-friendly option. But it is
harder to port libxslxwriter to ILE C than it is to port libxlsxwriter
to PASE. If you port libxlsxwriter to PASE, it will not be as
RPG-friendly as a service program.
