It is very common for there to be issues with different versions of
Java, or missing/incorrect Java classpaths. All of those things should
be able to be resolved, though not by me because I don't mess with
that stuff. Others on this list should be able to help you figure it
out.
I'll offer my standard advice that ***IF*** you are not already
committed to doing it in RPG and you are willing to learn a little
bit, I believe it is well worth considering doing it in Python
instead. You don't need to learn a lot of Python to get to a point
where you can read Excel files. I'd say it's probably similar to the
amount you'd have to learn to get the POI-through-RPG stuff working.
If you go the Python route, I can definitely help.
