Assuming you're writing the secondary file using RPG... Sounds like a
record blocking issue to me... if the secondary file you're writing to is a
PF, the database records may not be there yet (even though you're past the
point in the code where they are written). You may need to issue FEOD
(force end of data) inside your program before you call the CL

Assuming that you're creating a CSV, why not just use QCMDEXC with a
CPYTOIMPF?

Subject: Issue creating an excel from file in /FREE RPGLE
Hello,
I'm having an issue generating an excel from a file thats created in my
RPGLE.
The program displays parts to a user for ordering purpose but they also
want an excel copy.
As I write to the subfile I also write to the secondary file.
When the process is finished loading the subfile and just before I display
the results to the user I call an external CL that executes a SQL view and
emails it to the user.
The problem is that the file contains eg 200 records and the excel sent
only has about 100 records.
If I run the SQL on its own I get all 200+ records.
For clarification we use ViewPoint to do our SQL jobs.
Thanks
Michael
