Not with static SQL...
Dynamic yes...but select into is not supported, you have to use values into.
wSqlStmtm = 'values(select count(*) from claims where '
+ whereStr
+ ' ) into ?';
exec sql
prepare countClaims from :wSqlStmt;
exec sql
execute countClaims using :cnt;
