I had this problem with RDi 9.6/IBMi 7.3. I reported it to IBM, and they created an APAR (MA47098). The last I heard from them was the fix was due this month.

Subject: WATCH not working in DEBUG - STRDBG

Hi,

We are facing a strange issue where WATCH does not break in debug when the value of the variable under watch changes.

We are at V7R1, we have bunch of other machines too where it is working just fine but on this machine it is just not working.

We have same programs breaking correctly in other machines but not this one, has any one seen this issue before and knows how to correct?

Thanks,
Ashwani Singh
