I ran into this problem. too. The SQL precompiler is either
unable to determine the date format for the job (and, therefore, the
program) or the current date format is incompatible with the date format
in the database table. In my case, I added ctl-opt (H-spec) default date
settings that matched the date format of the database table and then all
was well.
