SNGCHCFLD is a square checkbox, where you can list several items and mark
on/off for each item in the list.
MLTCHCFLD is a round circle, where you can list several items of which no
more than one item can be selected at one time.
I like using them because today's users already understand how they
function and they are mouse users. Coupling *AUTOENT with radio buttons
and checkboxes makes a mouseable change a one-click event. With barcode
readers, scanners, voice control;s, and other available solutions, the
keyboard is becoming an anachronism.

I'd already tried SNGCHCFLD which gave me a rather ugly checkbox on the
left of the field. Will try the *NOSLTIND parameter after the Easter
break. Funny though, I thought we'd never used SNGCHCFLD before. Thanks
anyway!
