The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

You know, now that I think back, Jon was mentioning on newer OS you can use
the same cursor definition in different subprocedures. My mistake.
I did end up using RLA for the solution, and it actually was a lot cleaner
in a way.
In my searches for an embedded/dyanmic SQL solution I found a lot of "why
would you want to do that?" reponses. Well, because recursion in business
logic is rare, but it does happen from time to time and I personally would
rather use the programming language rather than SQL statements.

I seem to recall having a chat with Jon Paris (probably on this list)
about SQL Cursors and not being able to use them recursively. I've done
some searching and just can't find that conversation.
Is that still the case on V7R2/3? Is there any way to set a cursor as
unique to the recursion level of the call to the function instead of at the
program level?
If not, besides RLA what other options are there?
