The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

.Net Core doesn't support Windows Forms so the answer is: Probably won't support .Net Core.
Although .Net core does already support every platform except for AIX, Mainframe and IBMi.
On Linux and Mac you can already use Visual Studio Code and there's an RPG plugin for that I believe.
And RDI of course.
If I were creating editing plugins I would probably focus on Visual Studio Code, Atom for multi-platform and Notepad++ for Windows.
Or check out the MIWorkplace Jon mentioned. Built on eclipse.

I don't know if that editor has been compiled to .NET "Core" or not, but it appears Microsoft's claim is .NET "Core" runs on some MacOS and Linux OS's.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/core/macos-prerequisites?tabs=netcore2x
The above link is for MacOS versions for .NET Core 2.x applications. From there you can easily find links for supported Linux OS's, as well as prerequisites and supported OS's for .NET Core 1.x.
.NET is designed like Java and intended to be highly portable when the .NET run-time is installed on the OS (like a Java application with the Java run-time installed).
In short, Liam's editor might already support those other OS's.
How well does the portability live up to the hype? I don't know.

Yes - but for the benefit of my customers I like to be familiar with

software won't make me use it.
