Dump is useful in an ON-ERROR, as you don't know where the error might have
come from.

In ON-EXIT, using IBM APIs, if an error is returned, you know what few
pieces are involved, you can just send a message passing along those pieces
of data. Dump, if it worked, would be overkill (or lazy ;)

Lazy as charged.

I personally fell into this pattern because DUMP:
1) Is pretty complete.
2) Requires no infrastructure - runs in every environment, on every
version of IBM i.
3) Takes no processor cycles until needed.

I was sort of looking forward to hearing how other RPG programmers log
failure information for future analysis. Or is this not really a thing
that RPG programmers do?
