Brad,
Close but I think the QDBRTVFD api would
eliminate the print scrape step and would be
much quicker?

My LSTFFD sounds like it's halfway or more there. I made it open
source a while back. Sounds like a possible start.

related data bases(LF, indexes, etc), and a position to field when
subfile is displayed showing all the fields.

I've looked at API QDBRTVFD, QDBLDBR to do most of the
heavy lifting instead of using the printing and scraping that most
everyone else seems to be happy with. Unless this exists somewhere
else I'd think this might be worthy.
As I close in on my retirement, I'd probably love this kind of
challenge.

An FFD on steroids, if you will.

First, I am retired. Not looking for a job, a contract or anything of
that nature.

Second, I am bored, enjoy RPG, subfiles, and the iSeries. As some of
you know, I have a web site where I show solutions to common problems.
Not particularly grand or overwhelming but it does keep me out of the
bingo halls and senior centers.

Which leads to the point of this request...

Any suggestions for problems to display, projects to develop, or
whatever? Complicated, but not too complicated, more than a quicky but
not a long drawn out thing, with some challenge but not
life-threatening. In other words. a Goldilocks project.

Thanks for any ideas that come along. :)
