There isn't any rule that says LIKEDS or LIKE have to be first.

There _are_ a couple of "has to be first" rules for free-form definitions: If there's a data-type keyword like CHAR or INT, it has to be first. And if a data structure is externally-described, either EXTNAME or EXT has to be first.
