Just a suggestion Dave - but instead of complaining and asking "Why"
- when it won't change a thing - why not instead spend a few minutes
writing up an RFE requesting that IBM add these options? It is far
easier for Barbara to justify spending time on it if she has an RFE
to point to that if she just "feels like it".
I'll vote for it!
P.S. There was a %NullINd so there was precedence for that abbreviation.
Thanks, Jon. Frankly, I didn't create an RFE because I figured it
would just get shot down. How can one really give a significant enough
business case for needing to be able to spell out keywords instead of just
using the abbreviations? ;-) But, I've got programmers complaining
about it, here, and they've gone and set up a copybook to create template
variables with longer names and wanted to create a programming standard to
require all programmers to use them with LIKE instead of the native data
types. Now I've got other programmers complaining about having to use the
copybook and LIKE. ;-) Good to know at least one other person would
vote for such an RFE. ;-)
Sincerely,
Dave Clark
