At that TR level he should be able to run this if he has internet
connectivity to the IBM i.

SELECT substr(PTF_GROUP_CURRENCY,1,26)
as Status, PTF_GROUP_ID as Id ,
substr(PTF_GROUP_TITLE,1,35) as Title,
PTF_GROUP_LEVEL_INSTALLED as Installed ,
PTF_GROUP_LEVEL_AVAILABLE as Available,
PTF_GROUP_LAST_UPDATED_BY_IBM as
LastUpdated FROM
SYSTOOLS.GROUP_PTF_CURRENCY ORDER BY
ptf_group_level_available -
ptf_group_level_installed
DESC,PTF_GROUP_ID desc

I always just go through the workptf list and delete the duplicate
entries that are at the lower levels. Just leaving the most recent.

Just now I noted that some PTFGRP are duplicated

Yes, this is OK. WRKPTFGRP shows all the groups unless you use
WRKPTFGRP

In particular, your cume looks OK, and you are at TR11 which is the
last TR for
7.1, but you need to check Java, DB2, and HTTP and bring them up to
date.
Java is only one group behind, but I would still bring it current.

I never saw a problem like you had when I was on 7.1. If it happens
again I
would call IBM for software support.
