Yes, the remote side is SQL Server.

The driver, the properties and the code on my side has been static for years. This error appeared this week, and it's occurred on around 4pm local time on 3 out of 4 days. We had to reinstall the PASE licensed program last weekend because it was showing an error status. So at first, I suspected that might have been the trigger, although I have no idea why. That's just the only thing on my side that's changed.

... it's coming from the database (looks like MS-SQL Server?). If you are sure, that there is no other transaction locking the same record, it might be a timeout problem with the driver and maight be solved by Driver properties.
