Note that the default of CLOSQLCSR(*ENDACTGRP) is better for performance...

If you can't change the file to REUSEDLT(*YES), thus not needing a RGZPFM...

Then prior to the RGZPGM, do an ALCOBJ WAIT(5) CONFLICT(*RQSRLS) before
hand.

Or do a RGZPFM ALWCANCEL(*YES) to reorg while active.

this is how I found it...

I was wanting to do a rgzpfm, and the file showed locked....

More complicated then file I/O. With File I/O, a close is a close. With
SQL
you have Psuedo closing. The operating system only closes the cursor
partially so that it can re-open it quicker.

If you use CLOSQLCSR on CRTSQLRPGI command and say *ENDMOD the cursor
will
be physically closed when you leave a module. The default is *ENDACTGRP
which means it will not fully close the cursor until the activation group
ends.

If something else needs a higher lock state like a reorg, then the OS
will
also full close the cursor to grant that lock state.

The idea is that it would be too expensive to fully open and close
cursors
using SQL so they came up with the Psuedo closing concepts.

I am loading a RPG subfile via a SQL cursor. I thought that when the
cursor was closed,
that would close the files from the SQL statement.

is there something I should do to make sure the files get closed?
