I see two solutions.

1) Create a 1-character input field in the subfile record that is used for
nothing more than tabbing the cursor into.

2) Presuming your users are using Client Access, and depending upon how
many intervening spaces there are in each subfile record, you could modify
all of your users' CA keyboard mappings so that <Ctrl-Left> and
<Ctrl-Right> behave like they do in Windows. These are functions [backtab
word] and [tab word], respectively. This just makes it easier for a user
to use the keyboard to position the cursor. (I am very much a keyboarder,
and I have replicated many of Windows' key functions into my CA keyboard
mapping.)

I do believe you are correct in that I cannot capture the arrow keys...
yet, there are no input fields in the subfile record, but there is on the
STLCTL (at the bottom of screen)

the purpose is:
the cursor is at bottom of screen on the SFLCTL field... (input new rows)
however, If the user mouse clicks, or presses enter on a sfl row, we jump
to that rows detail information...

some people are not "mousey" and would rather use arrow keys; but the tab
key may be the only alternative.
