Usually the program works, probably it's the first time somebody used 9
fields to order the report.

I already modified the program using a 10 elements array:

dEscamotage s like(xxordi1) dim(10)
...
Escamotage = fieldord;
//ld = %lookup(*blanks:fieldord)-1;
ld = %lookup(*blanks:Escamotage) - 1;

and it's working.

To be honest I made the post because if that behavior is a bug I should
open a PMR. But, sometimes, it's so easy to forget some documented
limitations of the language.

TIA

What happens if you change the line to:

ld = %lookup('ARCDCABINA':fieldord)-1;

What is the value of LD?

Hi, I'm receiving an MCH1210 at line 15733:

15733 ld = %lookup(*blanks:fieldord)-1;

the dumpl clearly state that the %lookup should return 0 so LD supposed to
be -1.

DUMP ILE RPG
FIELDORD CHAR(10) DIM(9)
(1) 'TFCDPROPAE'
(2) 'TFCDCOMUNE'
(3) 'ABCDPAESE '
(4) 'ARCDCABINA'
(5) 'FTCDUTENTE'
(6) 'ARCDQUTOF1'
(7) 'ARCDQUTOF2'
(8) 'ARCDQUTOF3'
(9) 'W9PERIODO '

LD INT(10) 0 '00000000'X

We are at 7.2.

Any idea? I cannot extend the array, the only way is moving it in a longer
one but it should work even with 9 elements.

TIA
