While I tend to agree with you if his change management strategy already
includes recompiling all source upon table modification then he's covered.

But, just to swing the pendulum back to you...
If the database has default values, nulls, etc, you've just blown that
away because it will fill it with RPG defaults for those columns.
So it is better to only put the values that your RPG actually modifies on
your INSERT statement.
