Now, I will say that MS SQL Server doesn't use the CALL keyword
for invoking stored procedures. Rather, it uses the EXEC keyword -- but I
still have to specify the CALL keyword from an embedded SQL point of view.
Is this the real source of the issue?

might be, at the moment I'm a little bit short of time to reproduce the
situation. Anyway, if this ist the cause of your problem - it won't run this
way in the current release. If you don't need a response parameter, you
could simply use dynamic SQL or a function as stated before.
