Oh, sorry. I thought you were talking about a physical file. I
should have thought more about the fact that you mentioned the BARCODE
keyword. I admit that I have not had to consider the affect of using
variable-length fields in printer files before. I have simply made a
fixed-length field large enough to handle the maximum length of the
associated variable-length field. I can see how this would be an issue
for a barcode field where you don't want the blanks on the end of the
field to be interpreted in barcode.
