You know, after thinking about this more, it may make sense to add a
"findLastChar()" subprocedure to your arsenal.

This way you can say:

i = findLastChar(inputString:'/');

And it will return the position of it. Then it's an easy %subst to get the
two parts.

before -= %subst(inputString:1:i);
after = %subst(inputString:i+1);

This could be also used to find the last '.' in a filename to get the
extension as well. Or it could simply be built upon for a more specific
subproc...

findLastSlash();

calls findLastChar(string:'/'');

findLastPeriod();

calls findLastChar(string:'.');

Just some ideas... I have a personal set of string functions I've used for
years that I add to all the time when the need comes up. I may just add
this one in as well.

Methinks there is a better way than what I am doing.

I have a string like "home/One/Two/sample.txt" and want to separate it as
two strings: "home/One/Two/" and "sample.txt". I will be doing this in an
.sqlrpgle program.

Suggestions on approach to this?
