copy books if you use the COPY directive. Use the INCLUDE directive
The opposite, members included by the /COPY directive are considered and
members with embedded with /INCLUDE are ignored.
If the /COPY member includes nested copy books and you need all levels you
need to set the RPG preprocessor options (RPGPPOPT) to *LVL1 or *LVL2

Agreed there are a few exceptions, constants, array elements, data
structures with multiple nested level, but these restrictions are also valid
for fixed formed D-Specs.

PM:
The procedure compiles fine if TYPEID or PTYPENAME are either defined
as char's or like fields in files.

The SQL precompiler is not as smart as the RPG compiler. The SQL
precompiler will reject definitions are are marked as constants and won't
find definitions that are in copy books if you use the COPY directive. Use
the INCLUDE directive, instead. It also can't handle definitions that use
more than one qualifier.

Sincerely,

Dave Clark
