Using ArdGate, you would have to do lots of work to need 5 hours a day - I've never seen this!!!.
Main differences of ArdGate to most other solutuions:
- you are just using normal SQL interfaces of AS/400: embedded SQL, QMQRY, STRSQL
- you don't need additional Servers: it runs on AS/400 only
- you could run the Java part on any other Java capable system
- (nearly) unlimited scalability: 1 JVM serves multiple Jobs
- subsecond (milliseconds!!!) response times from the first call to all following
