The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

As another "fly in the ointment"....we're running V5R4
On v5r3, the second level text of the message says the limit in
characters, so presumably will too, on v5r4; see:
DSPMSGD RNF0269 MSGF(QDEVTOOLS/QRPGLEMSG)
On v5r3:
Message . : Character literal is too long; literal truncated.
Cause . . : The character literal is longer than 1024 characters.
The literal has been truncated to 1024 characters.
On v6r1 the limit shows as 16380 in that message.
If the other options mentioned already are not desirable to overcome
the limit, then consider loading the statement text from a file [STMF or
DBF] or from a compile-time array. These options have an additional
advantage, in that no apostrophes need to be escaped [i.e. doubled] as
they must be when composing the statement in an RPG string literal.
