Of course after I say that I do see where I access XLSX or XLSM with embedded blanks.
I first do a:
ss_begin_object_group(100);
File Name:
Excel = 'Molding Classes and Sq Ft.xlsm';
The open looks like: (IFSLOC contains /Inventory/)
Book = ss_open(%Trim(IFSLoc) + %Trim(Excel))
If (Book = *null);
Leave;
EndIf;

You cannot have blanks in the file name. I use _ between words to make more readable.

Subject: Trying to get a RPG program to read a xlsx
I need help. I have loaded the POI and other libraries onto the machine and compiled. I am using Scott Klement's code and examples.
I am stuck with an error trying to open the spreadsheet with the hssf_Open(path_and_filename). It errors out and the job log shows that the file is not found.
1. The file name and path is long, over 100 characters. Is this a
problem?
2. The file name contains blanks. Is this a problem?
3. I cannot debug the HSSFR4 code. The compiler jumps over it and will
not allow me to put in a break point. I am using the Java/GUI debugger included with iAccess.
Any suggestions would help.
TIA
Darryl Freinkel
